Feed Your Shopping Feeding Frenzy - Enjoy the Many Jekyll Island Shopping Options

If shopping is in your blood, then fear not - Jekyll Island shopping opportunities abound.

The shops of the Beachside Shopping Center have been moved up the road to a temporary site due to the ongoing revitalization projects, but they're still accessible and open for business.

At the renovated cottages and out-buildings of the Historic District, you'll find something for everyone on your list. And don't forget YOU!

From natural fish baits to beautiful hand-wrought works of art, Jekyll Island shops will surprise and delight you. So grab that shopping bag and jump right in for your Jekyll Island Family Adventure!

Village Shops -

Jekyll Island's premier shopping center located on Beachview Drive just as you enter the island has been torn down to make way for the realignment of the entrance road and the construction of the new Village Center.

Many shops relocated to a temporary site just up the road, on the beach. They'll find new homes around 2012 in the Village Center. But for now...

Need groceries? Try the IGA Supermarket. It's been downsized some because of the move, but they still have everything from food to beach toys.

For fishing licenses or rod and reel rentals, Maxwell's Hardware Store is the place to go. They also rent bikes. As well as selling hardware and other cool stuff. I've bought everything from bicycle tire inner tubes to tire repair kits to Super Glue to beach thingies.

For adult drinks, Jekyll Beverage is Jekyll's only full-service package store, offering beer, wine, and mixers for the party crowd.

Whittle's Gift Shop is your prime Jekyll Island shopping stop for gifts. As Jekyll's oldest gift shop, they provide signature gifts, T-shirts, shells, and more.

Want a quick snack pick-me-up? Stop by Flash Foods anytime, day or night. Grab a deli sandwich, or try a hand-dipped ice cream cone. They also sell beer and ice. The new Flash Foods is located just inside the entrance to Jekyll Island.

Going fishing? The Jekyll Island Fishing Center with their distinctive shark sign out front can meet all your fishing needs, from bait to licenses to ice - even artwork and gifts. Even book a dolphin tour, or a fishing trip. They're located at the Clam Creek Picnic Area, next to the fishing pier.

Jekyll Island Shopping at the Historic District -

The old millionaire's cottages and support buildings of the historic Jekyll Island Club have been renovated and turned into delightful shops and restaurants. Try these on for size:

Is your sweet tooth hankering for a sugar treat? The Island Sweets Shoppe is the place to go for sugary confections, from hand made candy to ice cream (I love their fudge!).

The Jekyll Wharf Marina Gift Shop handles a selection of Jekyll Island gifts, including T-shirts - even home decor with a nautical theme. Check out their kid's section.

Like to read? Put Jekyll Books at the Old Infirmary on your reading list. Southern Living magazine called it "Jekyll Island's must-see store".

Bird watchers and lovers should take advantage of the Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop. They have feeders. They have bird books. Even binoculars. And a section themed towards children.

The Island House is one unique Jekyll Island shopping experience you won't want to miss. Find an eclectic variety of art by local artists, jewelry, even pottery. And visit the studio of artist-in-residence William Temple, and get the chance to buy his stuff!

Can't stop singing Christmas carols? Santa's Christmas Shoppe is perfect for that early gift or unique Christmas tree ornament.

The Commissary offers specialty food items with ingredients like Georgia peaches and Vidalia onions. Try their variety of sauces, jams, coffees and teas. Or try a fresh-baked cookie.

If unique gifts with a worldly flavor suits your fancy, drop in at The Cottage, where you'll find specialty gifts of all kinds.

For jewelery, the Jekyll Island Trading Post is a perfect Jekyll Island shopping destination.

Interested in hand-crafted goods? Just By Hand provides just that - lovingly crafted pottery, glass figurines, and jewelery - even furniture. You can find local artist's workshere, too.

Shops at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel -

Here's more Jekyll Island shopping for your pleasure!

The Jekyll Island Signature Shop is for all those gifts with the Jekyll Island Club Hotel logo, like shirts and sweaters - and golf balls.

Need photography services? Try Riverview Gallery, offering wedding photography as well as portrait work.

Love Knots Flowers and Gifts is Jekyll Island's on-site florist. Really good to have a florist close by for weddings, anniversaries, and such.

For various gifts, including Spanish Moss bath products, visit Club Collections.

Other Jekyll Island Shopping Opportunities -

Buy gifts and learn about Jekyll Island at the Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center.

Adopt a sea turtle or become a member of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center while visiting their gift shop.

Like golf? Find clothing and accessories at the Jekyll Island Golf Pro Shop.

Get camping supplies, fuel, bait and ice at the Campground Country Store.

Pick up a museum themed gift at the Jekyll Island Museum gift shop.

Other Jekyll Island shopping opportunities are available during Special Events, so there's no chance of missing out on something cool to take home with you. Just make sure your shopping bags are deep enough for all that loot!
