Jekyll Realty - Your Family Friendly Vacation Headquarters

Jekyll Realty, one of Jekyll Island's premier real estate brokerage firms, has been on the island forever, it seems. And since planing a family vacation can be stressful, someone with their experience that can help you navigate the process is invaluable.

Otherwise, how do you know you're getting the best accommodations for your budget? Will the place you choose to stay be clean, have the latest amenities, and be readily accessible to all the sights you want to see?

Jekyll Realty can make planning your vacation a snap. They specialize in family vacations. They've also been handling the vacation needs of Jekyll Island visitors longer than any other real estate company.

The company is owned by C.J. and Megan Jefferies, former owners of SeaJay's Cafe and Pub, overlooking the Intra-coastal waterway. They have plenty of rental units to serve your needs, including cottage single family homes of all types and sizes (both inland and beach front locations); condos; apartments; and duplexes.

All the vacation homes are owner-owned and managed by the real estate company (including some select villas at Jekyll's best condo development). Take a look at their current listings here. There's a great variety in what you can choose from, suitable to every family's needs and budget.

The company is also happy to help those seeking to buy or invest in Jekyll Island real estate.

Fur Faced Family Members -

So. You've decided on a home-away-from-home for your stay in paradise? But how about your furry family members? Can they bunk with you?

The answer is yes, with conditions. Only some of the cottages they rent allow pets (these are shown with a "Pet Fee" designation on their list of available rentals). And none of the units allow pets in the summer season (from June 1st to August 10th).

All pet friendly cottages require a $150.00 non-refundable pet deposit.

If you can't find the perfect island cottage that will allow pets, check out some of the island hotels that welcome your furry buddies.

Things to Ponder -

When doing your initial vacation planning, Jekyll Realty recommends considering the following:

  • how many folks will be staying at the unit?  Unit descriptions on their website list the number of folks allowed to stay in the unit. Babies in cribs don't count towards the total.
  • if you're planning a spring break extravaganza with a horde of college students or people under 23, forget it. The company takes its commitments to family vacationers and their unit owners seriously. They don't rent to school groups, and only to those under 23 if a parent is with them.
  • you'll need to bring your own linens (or you can rent them from Southeast Cottage Linens at (912) 223-0610.
  • there's lots for families to do on Jekyll Island, but if your group loves the beach and wants to spend lots of time playing in the sand and surf, consider renting units close to the South Beach area. Through the actions of wind and tide over time, sand is moved from north beaches and deposited on southern beaches. At high tide, northern beaches are under water, and can't be used. Most south beaches can be used all day long.

Okay. Ready to jump in and sample the rental unit waters? You can contact C.J. and his staff at (912) 635-3301, or toll free at 888-333-5055.
