Latitude 31 is situated on the historic Jekyll Island Wharf fronting the Intracoastal
Waterway. It doesn't look like much from the outside. The
historic building used to serve as a warehouse, providing supplies and
ice to the millionaire crowd in the heyday of the Jekyll Island Club.
But looks can be deceiving—it now serves as one of Jekyll Island's
premier seafood restaurants.
And, besides great cuisine, the restaurant delivers a fantastic view across the Jekyll River, especially at sunset. Tip: have your waitress give you a window seat—but come early, they go fast!
Chef-prepared Entrees for Your Dining Pleasure
The restaurants seafood dishes showcase wild Georgia shrimp served with scrumptious
grits; oysters; grouper; and more. But seafood isn't their only fare.
Diners can also get delectable steaks, fettuccine pasta, fried green tomatoes,
and top it all off with Key Lime pie.
Their lunch fare includes
fish tacos, fried shrimp, black bean wrap, lemon pepper chicken wrap,
and sandwiches like Philly steak and cheese and oyster po'boy.
Makes me hungry just to think about it!
Catering and More
31 welcomes wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners, parties, business
dinners and other get-togethers, and also offers catering services.
And every Thursday night visitors can enjoy live music from great area bands like Eddie Pickett and the Wharf Ratz and Backbeat Boulevard. Live bands play outside on the wharf's deck, adjacent to the Rah Bar.
The Rah Bar is a satellite of Latitudes and is right next to it, serving fresh steamed and broiled oysters and shrimp, along with your favorite beverages, in a laid-back, outdoor, island ambience setting. While you might be tempted to dress up for the main restaurant, casual wear is the norm at the Rah Bar. Pull up a chair, order oysters on the half-shell, sit back, and enjoy beach music while slurping oysters! And bring your dog. They're welcome at the Rah Bar, too.
