Celebrating Christmas in the South (or anywhere else?) this year? Jekyll Island transforms into "Holly Jolly Jekyll" from November through December. It's a great place for families to spread the Christmas Spirit.

Christmas Tree Lighting Festival -
The Christmas Tree Lighting Festival this year and will be held on November 24th, and kicks off the Christmas season on Jekyll Island, the first of many fun events happening on the island during the holidays.
The good times orbits around the Historic Center. Take time to participate in holiday shopping sprees, and enjoy delicious hot
chocolate and savory Christmas treats. This year you can enjoy the Ice Skating Village at it's new location in the Historic Center.
And don't forget to take the kids to visit Santa at the Skeet House for Story Time with Santa. Be there, too, when Santa lights the Jekyll Island Christmas Tree.

festival fun starts Friday, Nov. 24: 2-8 p.m. The lighting of the Christmas
tree and fireworks finale is at 7:30 PM. Admission to the festival is
free, although some activities may require a small fee. The Jekyll Island parking fee will be increased by $4.00 (daily and weekly passes) for this event. Park at the Great Dunes golf course, and take a shuttle to the festival.
It's a perfect sendoff for Christmas in the South.
Holiday Light Displays -
From November 17 through January 6, enjoy an array of twinkling colorful holiday lights to brighten your Christmas experience. Lights can be viewed along roads within the Jekyll Island Historic District, the Beach Village, and Great Dunes Beach Park.
Holly Jolly Jekyll Parade -
Santa at the Golf Course parking lot off Captain Wiley Road at 4:30 pm on December 15 for the Holly Jolly
Jekyll Parade. Santa will ride his sleigh, and you and the family can
dress up your golf carts or Red Bugs in festive Christmas cheer and ride
along. The parade will end at the Beach Village Green, where you can catch up on your shopping at the friendly neighborhood shops and maybe win an award for the Best Dressed Holiday Golf Cart. Track down your registration form here!
Santa at the Skeet House -
Get your St. Nicolas fix with Santa at the Skeet House, Saturdays December 1, 8, 15 & 22. Kids can meet the holly jolly old elf, and Mom and Dad can check who's been naughty and who's been nice! Santa entertains visitors from 1 to 4 pm.
See the Historic District as you've never seen it before, decorated for the season! Imagine Christmas through the ages as you venture inside the cottages of Jekyll Island's National Historic Landmark District and experience the holidays from the Victorian Era to the Jazz Age.
December 1 through the 31, 11 am, 1 pm, & 3 pm daily. $16 Adults, $7 Children 7-17, Free under 6.
Christmas Twilight Tours -
Ride the trolley through the Historic District and learn the story of Christmas in the South on Jekyll Island. Enjoy the cottages dressed up in Christmas lights and decorations while hearing special Christmas stories. Your evening includes an tour of Faith Chapel, and ends with music and light refreshments at Indian Mound Cottage. Saturdays at 4:00 pm through December. Christmas Concerts -
Love Christmas music? Jekyll Island provides it in style with two concerts featuring the sounds of the season.
First up: the Jekyll Island Arts Association Choir Holiday Concert, December 11 from 7:30 to 9 pm at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Next, come listen to the soothing sounds of Christmas from master pianist Dave Masterson. Concert is Friday, December 14, from 7 to 9 pm at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. Features David Masterson, pianist; Beth Allen-Gardner, soprano soloist; Donald Naysmith, tenor; and Cole Freeman, violinist. FREE!
Historic Center is where it's at for holiday celebrations, and the
Jekyll Island Club Hotel is at the forefront of the festivities with

On December 15 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, come partake of lunch in the Grand Dining Room, and present your gift lift to the jolly old elf himself. Get your picture taken with him, too! $25 per adult, $15 per child.
Holiday Chef Demo -
Join a Resort chef in learning to prepare the perfect holiday meal and dessert. Enjoy food tastings and wine while your at it! December 12, 12:30 to 2:30 pm at the Morgan Center. $40 per person.
Kids Holiday Tea Party and Etiquette Class -
and kids join Christina Godwin for and afternoon of tea sipping and
treat sampling - and the kids, bless their hearts, learn table
etiquette. Special guest appearance by Santa's Elves! With presents! December 16, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. $25 per kid.
Join Jekyll Island Club Hotel's Pastry Chefs for a fun afternoon of decorating
Christmas cookies. Each guest gets a dozen cookies to decorate
and take home (or eat). Kids and adults can apply colored icings and sprinkles to create edible art! More fun decorations will
be available, too, along with punch and mulled cider! December 20 & 21 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Morgan
Center. $17 per decorator, $5 per guest.
